Road Closures


I try to keep the most accurate information about road closures here for your convienence. Please keep in mind that it is not possible to visit every road on every week, so the possibility that I might miss something does exist. If you find a road listed here that is closed (or a closed road open) and I do not have information about it posted in this section, please do send me a comment about it! Send your information to .

08/21/2003 - The Southern entrance to Tepusquet Rd (from Foxen Canyon Rd) has been re-opened! It's not clear whether the southern entrance will remain open on a permanent basis, so be sure to take notes on the detour (below on this page) just in case.
07/22/2003 - The low down on Stagecoach Rd. Ok I have had many emails from riders stating that Stagecoach is open, Stagecoach is closed, etc. etc. The official word is that Statgecoach is closed through the end of the year. However, road crews are trying to keep Stagecoach open if and when possible, esp. on the weekends. So, for the next few months the southern portion of Stagecoach will be closed or open on any given day. Should you find the southern section closed and are looking to get to Cold Springs Tavern, you can enter Stagecoach from the north/west entrance (exit on Paradise Rd, head north, Stagecoach connects approx. 1/2 mile down). This will take you to Cold Springs Tavern, and beyond that the road is again closed.
05/20/2003 - Once again the southern portion of Stagecoach Rd has been temporarily closed due to slides caused by flooding. You can only enter Stagecoach now from the northern entrance (off of Paradise Rd). This will take you to Cold Springs Tavern, and beyond that the road is again closed. I'll keep you posted as to when they re-open the entire road.
04/01/2003 - The Southern entrance to Tepusquet Rd (from Foxen Canyon Rd) has been temporarily closed. The Northern entrance via Hwy 166 is open. You can detour the Southern entrance by continuing south-west on Foxen Canyon Rd until you hit Santa Maria Mesa Rd. Go South East on Santa Maria Mesa, this will put you at the southern base of Tepusquet, 1/2 mi. from the closure.

03/21/2003 - The southern portion of Stagecoach Rd has been re-opened. Once again you can travel Stagecoach Rd in it's entirety.
01/20/2003 - The southern portion of Stagecoach Rd has been temporarily closed due to slides caused by flooding in late 2002. You can only enter Stagecoach now from the northern entrance (off of Paradise Rd). This will take you to Cold Springs Tavern, and beyond that the road is again closed. I'll keep you posted as to when they re-open the entire road.
