Lost Highway 1 - Los Berros, Pomeroy & Orchard Road. This Ride is on Leg 3 of the Lost Highway 1 Route

While Leg 3 does not offer much in the way of side-street turnoffs that offer interesting rides, there is one combination that is a really great little ride back to Hwy 101, Hwy 166 or Hwy 1. This is the Los Berros Rd, Pomeroy Rd and Orchard Rd section which is approx. 12 miles in length through some wonderful countryside.

Los Berros Rd, Pomeroy Rd, Orchard Rd. Valley Rd is the turn-off from Hwy 1 you will need to take. It is not well marked so keep an eye open for the sign pointing to Arroyo Grande, this is Valley Road. If you are going North on Hwy 1, make a right on Valley Rd, if from the South on Hwy 1 make a left on Valley Rd (I am facing South in the picture below). Approximately 500 yards up Valley Road you will come to Los Berros Rd. Make a right on Los Berros Rd.

The start of Los Berros Rd. offers a few real nice twisties.

Next Los Berros dumps you out into some straights parallel to farm land.

Keep an eye open for the Pomeroy Rd sign, which is about 200 yards beyond the sign. Make a right on Pomeroy Rd.

Pomeroy Rd then takes you out through more farm land and rural communities.

The end of Pomeroy Rd, Teft Street. Make a right on Teft and 50 yards up make a left on Orchard Rd.

Beginning of Orchard Rd. Some long straights through tree-lines farm land. This is the typical traffic conditions for a mid Sunday afternoon.

The last section of Orchard Rd. Strawberry fields line both sides of the road, and in mid July through picking season the smell through this section is not to be believed! I literally felt like I was trapped in a Smuckers Strawberry Jam jar, it is really fantastic.

The end of Orchard Road puts you at the Intersection of Hwy 101 and Hwy 166. You can also use the Campo Rd, Willow Road and Division Street connectors to cut into or make a loop of the Los Berros/Pomeroy/Orchard Rd run. Lost Highway 1
