| Highway 150 - Main Ride |
| The Hwy 150 ride was shot going South, from Carpenteria to Santa Paula. Just reverse everything if coming from the other direction... |
Hwy 150 overpass in Carpenteria, this is the start of your
journey. Exits on Hwy 101 are well marked, you should have no problem finding
it.
Quickly into the ride you are presented with a terrific
little twistie section, a taste of things to come.
The straightaways are loaded with terrific scenery. This is
the typical road condition which is well maintained with few, if any, potholes.
Heading up in elevation...
Passing the old Berry Farm on a wide sweeper.
The top of the mountain (one of a couple on the
ride), not quite yet to Ojai, you are presented with a stunning view of
Lake Casitas.
You'll usually find a lot of riders on Hwy 150.
Heading back down to Ojai.
Riding through the countryside.
Down in the lowlands riding alongside Lake Casitas.
While the roads are very well maintained, keep an eye out
for falling rock on some of the cut-aways.
Some wonderful wide open scenic sections.
Here is the 33/150 intersection, where the two highways
actually exist as one for a small section. This is the only tricky part of the
ride so if it's your first time on Hwy 150 just pay close attentions to the
signage, everything is well posted.
The Town of Ojai. Hwy 33 has already beforehand so you are
again on Hwy 150. Lots of places for good eaties in town.
Once you are past Ojai, you'll ride through a couple miles
of flat land and then come to this small outdoor Pizzeria, once past it the fun
begins again!
I just love signs like this!
Truly a twistie paradise.
You go up a nice elevation grade, swerving through the
dynamite twisties.
Looking down over Hwy 150.
Coming back down, you're about to go into some wide open
valleys.
Now you'll go through some great pastures, with lots of
farms and ranches dotting the scenery.
The Summit. One of my favorite eaty spots on Hwy 150.
Next you'll get to yet more fantastic twistie sections.
Lots of rolling roadside and great scenery to take in...
You are now entering Santa Paula.
Main Street, Santa Paula.
If you are starting the Hwy 150 run from Hwy 126, this is
what you will see immediately after exiting. Simply continue straight up Hwy
150 through Santa Paula.
