Goto SBC-Rides.com Home Page Highway 154 - Armour Ranch Rd

Armour Ranch Rd is a nice little 3 mi. detour of off Hwy 154. For those of you who ride Hwy 154 a good deal (such as myself), this little detour can add a bit of spice to the ride. Some nice twisties, a nice straightaway, terrific scenery, good road conditions and almost no traffic.

Armour Ranch Rd is also where the entrance to Happy Canyon Rd is located. From Happy Canyon you can then get to Baseline Rd for an even bigger detour around Hwy 154.

I would recommend this ride to everyone, especially those that ride Hwy 154 on a frequent basis and would like to add a little extra excitement in the ride.

The Armour Rd exit is approx. 2 miles before coming to the Hwy 246 exit. In fact, Armour Rd. actually turns into Hwy 246 once crossing Hwy 154 on the north end.

Armour Ranch Rd is well marked on Hwy 154.

Armour Rd. starts off with some nice wide twisties on fair road condition....

Ahhhh....Fresh pavement on a nice single lane twistie.

A wider sweeper in the middle of Armour Rd.

It really cuts through the countryside better than the map makes it look. Some nice curves and gentle elevation changes. Road conditions are very good.

Through some rolling slopes, nearing the end of the ride. This picture shows the typical, near non-existent traffic on Armour Rd.

End of the line, back to Hwy 154. A nice little detour I must say....

You can use Armour Rd to connect to Happy Canyon Rd and then to Baseline Rd, for an even larger detour on Hwy 154.
