| Highway 150 - Creek Rd/Santa Ana Rd. |

| Creek Rd combined with Santa Ana Rd is a detour I use frequently when riding Hwy 150. Approximately 11 miles in length, it takes you through some nice country, fun twisties and some terrific tree lined roads. More importantly, it allows you to bypass the more mundane section of 150 and the traffic within Ojai. Both roads can also be used separately as a connector to Hwy 33 (if that is part of your Hwy 150 route I highly recommend them). |
The Creek Rd/Santa Ana Rd Detour.
While the signs for Santa Ana Rd are well posted on Hwy 150 and 33, Creek Rd is not on Hwy 150. What you actually do is turn into South Ventura St, which turns into Creek Rd.
Look for the S Ventura St sign and the Ojai Police Dept. sign.
|
1/2 Mile from turning into S Ventura St, if you see the Ojai
City Hall you are headed in the right direction.
|
Ahhh....Back to the country.
|
Tree-lined roads are a common theme...

This wide sweeper shows the typical road conditions. Well
maintained with only a few patchy spots.
|
Inviting isn't it?
|
Your in ranch/farm country.
|
Some nice smaller twisites towards the end of Creek
Rd...

Hwy 33. If you are to continue on to Santa Ana Rd make a
right. If you're headed home to Ventura hang a left here.

Down a mile or so on Hwy 33 you will see the Santa Ana Blvd.
sign, make a left here.

Heading down Santa Ana Blvd.
|
Shortly you will come to Santa Ana Rd (you are on Santa
Ana Blvd.). Hang a right to continue up to Hwy 150 or a left if you want to
get back to Ventura via Hwy 33.
|
Back into the dry chaparral, some nice wide sweepers.
|
Soon you are riding alongside Casitas Lake
|
Through the final stretch....
